JOSH ZACHARIAS

Josh was blessed with a Christian family. He remembers hearing the gospel and asking Jesus to save him as a young person but struggled with his faith and assurance of salvation as a young person. However, through God’s Word, he was able to gain assurance of his salvation as he got older. One verse that helped him was Romans 4:3, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”

Josh was blessed with a sound, Bible-believing home church as a young person. He had many opportunities to serve. Through door-to-door witnessing, children’s ministry, and choir, he began to gain experience in ministry. During his college years, he finally recognised God’s call to ministry and finished with a degree in pastoral ministries and then went on to seminary. While serving on staff at Pensacola Christian College, Josh visited Australia for the first time during a ministry trip in 2018, and he sensed God’s working in his heart about ministering in Australia.

After a return visit in 2019, he felt God call him to Australia while listening to a sermon on Matthew 16:24 which says, “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” In 2020, he launched into missions assisted by Baptist International Missions, Inc. Currently, he is pastoring Graceway Baptist Church, the first church plant in the Melbourne Metro region (Footscray, Victoria, Australia).

IRA ZACHARIAS

Ira was born into a Christian family in the Philippines where she attended a Christian school and was saved at age 8. In 2011, she moved with her family to Australia and later became active in Bible Baptist Church of Liverpool, NSW, where she was discipled and baptised. In the church, she used her musical abilities to serve God in addition to helping in various ways such as children’s ministry and outreach, and she has assisted on missions trips to the Philippines and rural Australia. Her desire is to be used by God, and she took some Bible college courses to learn more of God’s Word.

After marrying Josh in February 2025, she now lives in Footscray with Josh as they serve at Graceway Baptist Church together. She is a blessing to the music ministry, children’s ministry and to Josh personally as well as in his pastoral ministry as they seek to advance God’s work in Australia.
